The Kansas City Chiefs have some injury issues, but they'll be facing a Denver team that's fully healthy.

The Kansas City Chiefs will be banged up on Monday night, but they’ll be facing a Denvr Broncos team that came up clean on its injury rreport, according to a report from Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Injuries were a major issue coming into camp, of course, given the uncertainty surrounding quarterback Bo Nix after his broken ankle last season. But Nix proved he can move around and play his usual game when the Broncos played the Green Bay Packers, and the Broncos quickly put Nix back in bubble wrap for the Week 1 opener at Arrowhead.

The Broncos also faced an array of soft tissue injuries at the start of training camp that had coach Sean Payton complaining about hydrating sufficiently and doing proper warmups. But none of the injuries proved significant, and the Broncos have been at full strength for most of training camp.

Another potentially serious injury surfaced when cornerback Riley Moss left early in the Green Bay game after playing well in camp. But Moss’s injury proved insignificant, and presumably the fact that he’s not on the final list means he’ll be a full go when the Broncos meet the Chiefs.

The final major player to be somewhat at issue was receiver Marvin Mims Jr., who was reported with a foot injury going into practice this week. But Mims was a full participant in practice this week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday according to a report from Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, so he’ll be part of the proceedings as well.

The Chiefs, meanwhile, come into this game with all kinds of injury issues. The biggest is about the mobility of quarterback Patrick Mahomes, as the Chiefs waited until the end of training camp to officially announce Mahomes as the starter.

Mahomes has been rolling out, taking snaps and running around occasionally, but we haven’t seen how he’ll do at game speed against the tough Denver defense.

There are other issues as well. The offensive line is already banged up, which echoes a similar theme from last year, and left tackle Josh Simmons is presumably out for this game. Guard Trey Smith has also been struggling with a hip injury, bu he should be a full go.

The final injury to surface was a calf strain sustained by defensive tackle Chris Smith, who’s a key element of the Kansas City pass rush. Jones hasn’t been ruled out, but it’s unclear how healthy and mobile he’ll be.
