Former Kansas City Chiefs receiver Tyreek Hill is trying to overcome a serious injury, but it's been a struggle.

The Kansas City Chiefs have been connected to their former star receiver, Tyreek Hill, throughout the offseason, but it’s been hard to take many of the rumors seriously.

There’s good reason for that, as it turns out, with a report from Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk stating that Hill has no power in his left leg after the serious knee injury he suffered while playing for the Miami Dolphins last season.

Hill has been trying to sell himself as a free agent, but it hasn’t been easy. He posted his latest rehab workout video yesterday, according to Williams, and he stated that he still has no power in his left leg after two surgeries.

“So it’s about 10 months after doing two surgeries,” Hill said. “My left leg is the one that I injured. I have no power in my left leg, so I’m trying to regain all the power back in my left leg. But it’s one day at a time.”

Hill’s video was entitled “Cheetah, Reborn,” which is ambitious to say the least right now. It’s one minute and 38 seconds long, and it shows Hill running and jumping on turf, a basketball court and in a pool at what appears to be his Florida home.

“I ain’t going to tell you what my timeline is, but timeline looking real good right now, man,” Hill said.

The former Chiefs receiver also added a detail that was further designed to sell his storyline as a miracle comeback. As Williams stated, Hill dislocated his knee and tore multiple ligaments, including his ACL, in a Sept. 29 game against the Jets. He was hospitalized overnight and required surgery the next day.

“You know, they told me I might not be able to walk again, and the doctor is like, ‘Bro, we don’t know what’s going to happen with your future,’ and now look at me. God is good,” Hill said. “I feel good.”

Feeling good is a long way from returning to the NFL, though, and the Dolphins released Hill back on Feb. 16, making him a free agent. Hill has also faced near-constant off-field problems, which would make him even more problematic for any team considering adding him.

This story would become real if Hill actually starts to schedule workouts with NFL teams, but that doesn’t appear imminent. It’s hard not to believe his career is over, which would be sad given how remarkable he was as a receiver in Kansas City early on.
