The NFL Divisional Round was one for the books.
With the Kansas City Chiefs already far removed from the NFL Playoffs, our duo of Golden J and Chico looks across the league at different matchups, as well as the game of the week, the College Championship.
Golden J opens up this week's Kansas City Chiefs podcast, discussing the Denver Broncos and Buffalo Bills matchup. Josh Allen and company entered Denver Saturday evening and couldn't get thejob done, leading to head coach Sean McDermott losing his job. Then, he brings up the Chicago Bears' heartbreaking loss to the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night.
Next up, the dup talk about the College Football Playoff National Championship, where the Indiana Hoosiers took down the Miami Hurricanes -- where our division rival Las Vegas Raiders future quarterback Fernando Mendoza completed a fairytale season with a Championship.
Then, taking a look at some Kansas City news, our former offensive coordinator Matt Nagy was a finalist for the Tennessee Titans head coach opening, but he subsequently lost the gig to Robert Saleh.
This conversation leads to Golden J predicting that Nagy will still land a head coach role, however, our host believes he will land with a team like the Cleveland Browns or Raiders -- essentially a franchise that will have immense difficulty being turned around.
Calling their shot ahead of time, our duo places their foot down on any possible return to the Chiefs for Nagy and thinks he'll be moving on to a different team.
Kansas City is now expected to bring back Eric Bieniemy to replace Matt Nagy, so our duo gives their thoughts on the potential reunion and whether they'd be happy with the hire.
Taking a look into the ongoing debate between tight end Travis Kelce and retirement, Golden J stands pat on his prediction that the future Hall-of-Fame tight end will return for at least one more season in the NFL. He also points out that his highly anticipated wedding with pop superstar Taylor Swift was postponed, possibly hinting that Kelce will return next season.
There's plenty of uncertainty with many positions on Kansas City's roster as well as coaching roles that are yet to be answered, and our duo give some thoughts on where the team will look to fill the vacancies.
As always, be sure to give the full podcast a listen, join Roundtable's Chiefs page and be active in our community as well.
