The Kansas City Chiefs opened up free agency with multiple big splashes, so Roundtable's Chico and Golden J recap the transactions.

The Kansas City Chiefs have already had a very great offseason, thanks to free agency opening up earlier this week.

However, last week the team opted to trade away cornerback Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams and he subsequently signed a four-year $124 million extension.

As Golden J opens this weeks show discussing this trade, he reads McDuffie's goodbye letter to Chiefs fans and the duo give their thoughts on his letter, along with some insight into the trade itself. Above all, our pair are thankful for his time in Kansas City and wish him well in Los Angeles.

Next up on this weeks podcast, Chico goes down the long list of players that Kansas City lost in free agency, starting off with safety Bryan Cook who is heading to the Cincinnati Bengals; which Golden J admits he is very upset to see him leave.

Cornerback Jaylen Watson also signed with the Rams, heading to LA to reunite with McDuffie. Watson signed a three-year $51 million contract, a number that Golden J seemingly didn't expect to get as high as it did.

Linebacker Leo Chenal signed with the Washington Commanders just before the duo started recording this episode, reportedly inking a three-year deal worth $24.75 million.

Overall, the losses to the Chiefs roster will certainly be felt. Thankfully, Kansas City also made a handful of signings to bolster it's roster and counteract a few of the losses.

The Chiefs also lost running back Isiah Pacheco to the Detroit Lions to form a backfield of Pacheco and Jahmyr Gibbs, but replaced the former with the best signing of the offseason thus for for Kansas City.

The Chiefs landed former Seattle Seahawks and Super Bowl 60 MVP RB Kenneth Walker to a three-year deal worth up to $45 million. As if that news wasn't enough, just a few hours earlier the Chiefs got confirmation that future Hall-of-Fame tight end Travis Kelce will be returning to Kansas City next season. Golden J finally gets his wish of not having to discuss Kelce's potential retirement in the offseason, and the Chiefs get their superstar tight end back for one last ride.

Chico gives Kelce two specific goals for the 2026-27 season, which is reaching the Super Bowl and winning SB MVP. An extremely ambitious mindset, but Golden J reaffirms that Kelce can get it done.
