Travis Kelce's Final Game At Arrowhead Stadium Could Be On Christmas Day cover image

Christmas Day could mark Travis Kelce's emotional farewell to Arrowhead Stadium. The Chiefs' playoff hopes fade, fueling speculation about his final home game.

Entering the 2025 NFL season, there was some speculation that this would be the last ride of Travis Kelce's legendary career.

While it hasn't gone well for the Chiefs, Kelce was named to the AFC Pro Bowl team and still leads the Chiefs' pass-catchers.

But, going into the Christmas Day game against the Denver Broncos, there is a very likely chance that this is Kelce's final time playing at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Chiefs are not going to the playoffs this year, and in Week 18, they face off against the Las Vegas Raiders on the road.

Now, Chiefs coach Andy Reid did not reveal whether or not it is Kelce's final game at Arrowhead Stadium, and maybe he really doesn't know, either.

"I don't know if it is or not," Reid said, via team transcript. "I haven't talked to him. I think his numbers and personality and the person I think speak for themselves. Phenomenal person (and) great for the community – has been great for the community. He's everything you want from a player representing an organization."

Eric Edholm of NFL.com called the Kelce swan song (potentially) as one of the storylines for this AFC West Christmas Day showdown.

"Speculation about Travis Kelce's NFL future beyond this season started before the 2025 campaign even began, and the talk of Thursday possibly being his final home game ever has only gotten louder as the Chiefs' season has fallen apart. Head coach Andy Reid has been coy on the matter, saying he doesn't know Kelce's plans, instead choosing to say that his tight end was a "phenomenal person" and "everything you want from a player representing an organization." Even with a reduced target share from recent seasons, Kelce leads the Chiefs in catches and receiving yards and is tied for the team lead with five TD catches," Edholm wrote.

And, star defender Chris Jones said he hopes it isn't the last one for Kelce, but at this point, nobody seems to know.

Kelce has spent his entire NFL career with Kansas City after being selected in the 2013 NFL Draft, and he will certainly be headed to the Pro Football Hall of Fame one day down the road.

But, for now, it could be the last time he plays in Kansas City, and if so, a tip of the hat is required for Kelce in a legendary career. Only time will tell.
