INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indianapolis Colts (8-4) and Jacksonville Jaguars (8-4) are nearly ready to square off in a battle for the lead in the AFC South.
In terms of health, both teams got some positive developments throughout the last week.
The Colts activated linebacker Jaylon Carlies (ankle) from Injured Reserve this week, allowing him to make his season debut. Otherwise, cornerback Sauce Gardner (calf) and defensive end Tyquan Lewis (ankle) are out.
The Jaguars entered the weekend with wide receiver Parker Washington (hip), defensive tackle Arik Armstead (hand), defensive end Travon Walker (knee), and safety Eric Murray (neck) questionable, while left tackle Walker Little (concussion) and safety Andrew Wingard (concussion) were ruled out on Friday.
On Saturday, Jacksonville activated Murray from Injured Reserve, and all the questionable players except Washington are good to go.
Here are the inactive players for both teams:
With Gardner out, it allows undrafted rookie cornerback Johnathan Edward to be active for the first time since Week 10. He may see action behind Mekhi Blackmon and Jaylon Jones.
In Lewis' absence, expect to see more of rookie JT Tuimoloau alongside Samson Ebukam, behind Laiatu Latu and Kwity Paye.
The Colts signed Odum in mid-November, and with special teams ace Ashton Dulin going on IR, it put a premium on Odum as a two-time All-Pro. He is inactive this Sunday vs. the Jaguars.
The Jaguars being without their left tackle, Little, and a defensive leader in the secondary in Wingard are significant hits. Little is the left tackle, while Wingard is a starting veteran leader in the secondary who almost always shows up against the Colts. They do get a big lift from Walker's return.
The Colts and Jaguars face off at EverBank Stadium at 1:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
