INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indianapolis Colts (3-0) and Los Angeles Rams (2-1) are set for a physical matchup on Sunday at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Cal.
The Colts are an up-and-coming team, whose offensive explosion has taken many by complete surprise. The Rams, however, are a reigning playoff team that many picked to make a deeper postseason run in 2025. The Colts are looking to stamp their legitimacy while the Rams try to pick themselves up from a loss to the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles last week.
Entering the weekend, the Colts had already ruled out right guard Matt Goncalves (toe), cornerback Kenny Moore II (Achilles), and wide receiver Alec Pierce (concussion). Defensive tackle DeForest Buckner (back) and wide receiver/return specialist Anthony Gould (illness) were listed as questionable. Gould was removed from the injury report on Saturday, and Buckner was made active.
For the Rams, no one had been ruled out initially, but wide receiver Davante Adams (hamstring), right tackle Rob Havenstein (ankle), and tight ends Tyler Higbee (hip) and Colby Parkinson (shoulder) were questionable.
On Saturday, the Colts activated cornerback Mike Hilton and offensive lineman Josh Sills from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday's game.
With Goncalves out, second-year lineman Dalton Tucker will get the start at right guard. Tucker played over 450 snaps at the position last year as an undrafted rookie.
In Moore's spot, it will likely be a combination of Mekhi Blackmon and Hilton getting the reps. The Colts just signed Hilton to the practice squad this week. He has, however, spent the last four years playing for Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo while the pair were with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Pierce will be missing a game due to a concussion for the third time in his career. Filling in for him will be a combination of AD Mitchell and Ashton Dulin.
The Rams were able to designate all of their inactives as healthy scratches.
