WESTFIELD, Ind. — The Indianapolis Colts were back on site at Grand Park Sports Campus on Saturday after a joint practice and preseason matchup on the road with the New England Patriots earlier in the week.

For the second time this training camp, practice was moved to the indoor facility because of inclement weather in the area. It was a low-impact affair compared to what camp has recently looked like for the Colts, with this session lasting just an hour and without the players wearing pads.

Here's how the day went.

TEAM

— The following players missed Saturday's practice: wide receiver Anthony Gould, cornerback Charvarius Ward Sr. (back, missed last two practices), running back DJ Giddens (hamstring, missed last five practices), linebacker CJ Allen (hamstring, missed last five practices), guard Jalen Farmer, offensive tackle Luke Tenuta (knee), offensive tackle Nolan Rucci, defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi.

— Wide receiver Josh Downs left the field briefly after an awkward landing during a touchdown catch, walking off his ailment. Although he was out for that series, he returned on the first-team offense's next series and promptly caught another touchdown.

— The Colts worked out several free agents: quarterback Mark Gronowski, cornerback Jaylon Guilbeau, and wide receivers Josh Reynolds, Tre'Quan Smith, and Equanimeous St. Brown.

— The Colts released tight end Sean McKeon (shoulder) from Injured Reserve with an injury settlement.

— The focus of 7-on-7 and 112-on-11 drills was in the red zone.

OFFENSE

— The primary first-team offense was: QB Daniel Jones, RB Jonathan Taylor, WR Ashton Dulin, WR Laquon Treadwell, SWR Josh Downs, TE Tyler Warren, LT Bernhard Raimann, LG Quenton Nelson, C Tanor Bortolini, RG Matt Goncalves, and RT Jalen Travis.

— Jones was 7-of-13 passing (63.6%), with completions to Downs (3), Warren, Treadwell, running back Seth McGowan, and Dulin. That included touchdown throws to each of the five different receivers. Jones had another touchdown during 7-on-7s to Treadwell. Early in practice, Jones was pressured several times and had to make some throwaways.

— Quarterback Riley Leonard got the initial second-team reps before alternating with Anthony Richardson Sr. Leonard went 5-of-8 passing (62.5%), with completions to receiver Coleman Owen, receiver Raylen Sharpe, McGowan, receiver Deion Burks, and running back Ulysses Bentley IV. Leonard threw touchdowns to Sharpe, who gained plenty of separation while streaking toward the left sideline, and Bentley, who added yet another receiving touchdown to his summer tally.

— Richardson was 5-of-7 passing (71.4%), with completions to Bentley (2), Sharpe (2), and tight end Will Mallory. Richardson threw a touchdown to Bentley and two to Sharpe. Richardson also tossed touchdowns during 7-on-7s to Owen and Mallory.

— The primary second-team offensive line was: LT Blake Freeland, LG Jimmy Morrissey, C Dalton Tucker, RG Geno VanDeMark, and RT Josh Sills. Tenuta typically would be the right tackle, and Farmer the right guard, with Rucci likely filling in for Tenuta. Sills has played only guard up to this point in the summer.

— The primary third-team offensive line was: LT Bayron Matos, LG Jimmy Morrissey, C Josh Kreutz, RG Geno VanDeMark, and RT Goncalves. Goncalves is the starting right guard but can fill in at tackle in a pinch, where he played primarily as a rookie in 2024.

DEFENSE

— The primary first-team defense was: DE Laiatu Latu, 3TDT Colby Wooden, 1TNT Grover Stewart, DE Arden Key, MIKE Akeem Davis-Gaither, WILL Jaylon Carlies, CB Sauce Gardner, CB Justin Walley, SCB Cam Taylor-Britt, FS Cam Bynum, and SS A.J. Haulcy.

— Latu had a productive day, especially early on, notching two sacks against Jones.

— Walley had a standout day playing on the outside for Ward, three times breaking up passes intended for Treadwell.

— Rookie linebacker Bryce Boettcher broke up a pass during 7-on-7s that was heading straight for the end zone.

— Rookie defensive lineman Caden Curry continues to generate pressure on quarterbacks and affect run lanes while playing inside and out.

— Cornerback Mekhi Blackmon broke up one of Richardson's two incompletions on the day, saving a gain in the low red zone. It was a good rebound for him after a rough game on Thursday.

SPECIAL TEAMS

— During punt drills, the gunner duos were: Johnathan Edwards/Taylor-Britt, Rob Carter Jr./Burks, Blackmon/D.J. Montgomery, Sharpe/Eli Pancol, Edwards/Sahmir Hagans, Carter/Burks, Sharpe/Pancol, and Jai'Onte' McMillan/E.J. Horton Jr.

— Owen was the returner the entire time, although his job was only to field punts and not actually return them.

— The personal protectors were: Hunter Wohler, Daniel Scott, Ben Nikkel, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine.

— The Colts worked in some emergency long snappers, giving Luke Rhodes a break while Drew Ogletree and Curry got reps.
