— Per SI.com's Albert Breer, the Colts' initial offer to Daniel Jones "was in the range of Sam Darnold's three-year, $100.5 million deal," but Jones' camp countered with a deal "in the ballpark" of $50 million per year. The Colts then placed the transition tag on Jones.

According to SI.com's Albert Breer, the likely high price tag of Colts wide receiver Alec Pierce is already sending some potential suitors in another direction. Thursday, March 5

According to Albert Breer of SI.com, former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray "has interest" in the Colts. While the Colts are still trying to work out a multi-year deal with Daniel Jones, Breer suggests Murray could be an option on a minimum deal, whether Jones is with the Colts or not.

Tuesday, March 3

The Colts placed the transition tag on Daniel Jones. It is a one-year contract worth over $37.8 million. Jones can still negotiate with other teams, but the Colts have the right to match any offers. Any team that signs Jones to an offer sheet must set aside the offered money, untouched, until the Colts decide whether to match. The Colts would have five days to match another team's offer to Jones. The Colts and Jones will continue to negotiate a multi-year deal.
