The Indianapolis Colts had a meeting with another late-round quarterback prospect from the 2026 NFL Draft.

The Indianapolis Colts will reportedly host LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier for an official pre-draft 30-visit. With everything already going on with the Colts' QBs, what does this visit mean for the team's view of its QB room?

While the Indianapolis Colts always do their due diligence in speaking with quarterback talent before each year's draft, it seems increasingly more likely that they want to add someone to the room this offseason.

In recent weeks, the Colts have hosted visits from Illinois' Luke Altmyer, North Dakota State's Cole Payton, and LSU's Garrett Nussmeier. They've also had meetings with Texas Tech's Behren Morton and Georgia Tech's Haynes King.

Now, another can be added to the list as the Colts held a Zoom meeting with Joe Fagnano from UConn, who told Justin Melo of NFL Draft On SI.

Despite being a late-round/free agent projection, Fagnano (6'3", 226, 25 years old) is about as ready as they come to be in a pro team's quarterback room.

He has been in college football for seven years (at Maine from 2019-22 and UConn from 2023-25), making 44 starts along the way.

Fagnano has decent athleticism, running a 4.83-second 40-yard dash at the Scouting Combine, with a vertical of 35 inches and a broad jump of 9'10". He's productive, but protects the ball, throwing for 94 career touchdowns to just 18 interceptions.

He processes his reads well, and his arm talent is good enough to get him a spot on a practice squad.

If the Colts were to add Fagnano, it would likely be as a priority free agent to push Seth Henigan.

Currently, the Colts have a no-doubt starting quarterback in Daniel Jones, but he is recovering from an Achilles injury. The Colts are optimistic he'll be available for Week 1 of the regular season.

Behind Jones are Anthony Richardson Sr. and Riley Leonard. Richardson is the Colts' former top-five draft pick who is now on the trade block. Leonard was the Colts' sixth-round pick last year and looked good in limited action. Leonard is expected to carry the workload until Jones returns.

Behind Jones, Richardson, and Leonard is Henigan, who was an undrafted rookie last year and signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was released from their practice squad in late September and ultimately signed with the Colts' practice squad in late December.

While a depth quarterback is not an immediate need for the Colts, they are likely preparing to replace Richardson's spot should he be traded and to push Henigan for the final spot on the roster.

The Colts hold seven picks going into the 2026 NFL Draft, which begins on Thurs., April 23. They have no first-round pick, and one in each of Rounds 2-6, and two picks in Round 7.
