The Indianapolis Colts announced a few roster moves on Saturday ahead of Sunday's road matchup against the Minnesota Vikings. The team elevated linebacker Germaine Pratt and cornerback Kenneth Harris from the practice squad to the active roster for Sunday. They'll both revert to the practice squad afterward.
The team also released punter Thomas Morstead from the practice squad.
This is Pratt's (6'3", 250, 30 years old) second go-around with the Colts after spending most of last season with them. He added stability and sound tackling to the middle of their defense last year, and the Colts are hoping for the same in 2026.
Pratt's presence is necessary, with rookie linebacker CJ Allen (ankle) ruled out for Sunday and fellow rookie Bryce Boettcher (groin) questionable. Starting WILL linebacker Jaylon Carlies is back from a two-game stint on the sideline recovering from a rib injury, so he and Pratt may rotate at WILL, while Akeem Davis-Gaither plays MIKE.
Austin Ajiake will likely play several snaps, at least on passing downs, with the questions surrounding the position.
This will be Pratt's first game of 2026.
Morstead (6'4", 225, 40) was released because Rigoberto Sanchez's (right foot) injury designation for Sunday has been removed. The Colts signed Morstead earlier this week after Sanchez was injured in last week's game. Sanchez returned to the game but did not practice this week.
Harris (6'0", 192, 24) was called up due to injuries in the secondary, specifically to top cornerback Sauce Gardner (calf) and slot corner Justin Walley (knee). Gardner left early in last week's game and was replaced by Cam Taylor-Britt. That will likely be the plan again this Sunday in Minnesota, with Harris providing depth and special teams.
Harris is a rookie undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State, who was also active for the Colts in Week 1. He played four snaps on defense and three on special teams, recording one tackle.
If Walley cannot play, Kapena Gushiken will likely line up in the defensive slot for him. Gushiken has been a mainstay on special teams for the Colts all season, but did play a handful of snaps on defense against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2, registering two tackles (one for loss) and a pass breakup.
COLTS' INJURY REPORT
QUESTIONABLE — LB Bryce Boettcher (groin), CB Justin Walley (knee)
OUT — LB CJ Allen (ankle), CB Sauce Gardner (calf), WR Anthony Gould (concussion), TE Tyler Warren (groin)
