This week, the Indianapolis Colts placed cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt on the Injured Reserve list with a groin injury and signed cornerback Kenneth Harris from the practice squad to the active roster. The Colts also signed cornerbacks Shemar Bartholomew and Natrone Brooks to the practice squad.
Taylor-Britt was injured at the beginning of the fourth quarter of last Sunday's road loss to the Minnesota Vikings while chasing down quarterback Kyler Murray on a 35-yard scramble.
“He'll be out for a little bit of time, but I don't think it's going to be season-ending,” Colts head coach Shane Steichen said about Taylor-Britt on Wednesday.
The Colts signed Taylor-Britt to a one-year deal this offseason to reunite him with defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, who coached Taylor-Britt in the same role with the Cincinnati Bengals from 2022 through 2024.
Taylor-Britt has played 73 special teams snaps for the Colts this season in six games, and another 91 on defense, playing the boundary (45) and the slot corner (46) spots.
On the season, Taylor-Britt has 13 tackles (1 for loss), 1.0 sack, and 2 pass breakups.
He'll be eligible to return Week 12 at home against the New York Giants.
Harris (6'0", 192, 24 years old) is an undrafted rookie who was originally signed by the New England Patriots after the 2026 draft out of Oklahoma State. He played in Week 1 and Week 7 for the Colts, totaling three tackles and a pass breakup. He's played 21 snaps on defense and seven on special teams.
Bartholomew and Brooks signed after a tryout that also included free-agent cornerbacks Christian Braswell, Cobee Bryant, Dwight McGlothern, Kobee Minor, and Ambry Thomas.
Bartholomew (6'0", 200, 26) came into the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2024, spending time with the New York Jets (2024), Carolina Panthers (2024-25), Vikings (2025), Green Bay Packers (2025), and Tennessee Titans (2026). He's appeared in six career games (five with Panthers in 2024 and one with Packers in 2025), totaling 7 tackles (2 for loss) and 2 pass breakups.
Bartholomew has played 51 career snaps on defense and 45 on special teams.
Brooks (5'11", 176, 26) went undrafted in the 2023 draft and has spent time with the Atlanta Falcons (2025-25), Detroit Lions (2026), and Vikings (2026). He's played in 26 career games (one start), totaling 15 tackles, 1 QB hit, and 3 pass breakups.
Brooks has played 354 career snaps on special teams and 118 on defense.
The Colts now have corners Sauce Gardner, Charvarius Ward Sr., Justin Walley, Kapena Gushiken, and Harris on the active roster. Johnathan Edwards, Bartholomew, and Brooks are on the practice squad. Taylor-Britt and Cameron Mitchell are on IR.
