In the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft, with the 237th overall pick, the Indianapolis Colts selected Kentucky running back Seth McGowan.

PROS

McGowan was an elite tester at the Combine, running a 4.49-second 40, with a 42.5-inch vertical, and a 10'11" broad jump.

He runs with toughness and quick feet, and he follows his blockers well. He's also productive as a pass catcher and is determined in the red zone.

CONS

Fumbles have been an issue, with five in the last two seasons. McGowan will turn 25 years old early in his rookie season. He has been a part of five programs while attempting to regroup following legal issues from his time at Oklahoma in 2021.

FIT WITH COLTS

It'll be a good battle between McGowan and DJ Giddens to see who can be the primary backup to Jonathan Taylor. Special teams may be the determining factor in who is active on gamedays, though neither has much of a special teams background.

FROM INDY DRAFT GUIDE

"Seth McGowan, like a lot of this draft class, is a potential day-one contributor. His experience and versatility pair for rookie season reps if need be, especially for third-down back scenarios. The Colts, a team in desperate need of a third-down back, could use a player like McGowan."
