The Indianapolis Colts picked Oklahoma wide receiver Deion Burks in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft, with the 254th overall pick.

Indianapolis Colts GM Chris Ballard talked about the team's injuries this week ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.

In the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft, with the 254th overall pick, the Indianapolis Colts selected Oklahoma wide receiver Deion Burks, who transferred from Purdue in 2024.

PROS

Despite Burks' diminutive stature, he has the athleticism and explosion you'd hope for to counter it. He ran a 4.3-second 40-yard dash at the , with a 42.5-inch vertical, and a 10'11" broad jump. His play strength is also well above normal for someone of his size.

The Colts believe he's more than just a niche vertical or slot player.

CONS

Burks is on the low end of height (5'9"), weight (180), and arm length (29-3/8", which may limit his ceiling.

FIT WITH COLTS

The Colts need to replace the production and playmaking that Michael Pittman Jr. and AD Mitchell left behind, and Burks can contribute to replacing them despite not having near the size they had.

FROM INDY DRAFT GUIDE

"Deion Burks might give the Colts some TY Hilton-esque vibes on his tape with his combination of high-flying acrobatics and undersized speedster antics, evading would-be tacklers. Burks was primarily an outside Z in 2023 and 2025 and shifted to the slot for his 2024 injury-shortened season, so if the Colts want a secondary field-stretcher who can work in the short and intermediate depths as well they could go with Burks. His ability to play inside and outside helps his fit for the Colts, albeit he is a stark departure from Michael Pittman Jr.’s body type and physical profile that used to man the Z spot."
