The Indianapolis Colts hit the practice field on Wednesday to begin their on-field preparation for this Sunday's regular-season kickoff against the Baltimore Ravens.
The Colts' health bar is filling at the right time, as there were no players who missed practice on Wednesday, and starters who have been banged up recently, such as wide receiver Alec Pierce, cornerbacks Charvarius Ward Sr., and safety A.J. Haulcy, were all present and accounted for.
Here is how both teams' health is shaping up ahead of Sunday afternoon's matchup.
COLTS
WEDNESDAY
- Limited Participant — S A.J. Haulcy (ankle), WR Alec Pierce (heel), TE Drew Ogletree (neck), C Sedrick Van Pran-Granger (illness)
The most meaningful injury development is Haulcy's return, as he missed the last two weeks with an ankle injury, but now, the rookie may be on track to make his regular-season debut on Sunday. Whether Haulcy plays all, some, or not at all on Sunday, we should probably expect to see Hunter Wohler in some capacity, as the Colts feel he can play multiple roles and may be a key figure in replacing what Nick Cross was able to provide the team before leaving in free agency this offseason.
Pran-Granger also missed time since the Colts traded for him last week, but he has now returned.
Otherwise, players like Pierce, quarterback Daniel Jones, defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, and cornerback Justin Walley, who all spent part of the offseason sidelined while recovering from surgeries, all continue to remain on the field and ready to go for Week 1.
The return of significant Colts players from injuries should be a heavily beaten drum throughout the early portion of the 2026 schedule, as it was majorly influential in the team's late-season collapse in which they started 8-2, but finished 0-7.
Having Jones and Pierce back on offense can help the unit return to the well-oiled machine it was last season. On defense, coordinator Lou Anarumo has not had a healthy group at his disposal at any point since he was hired last year.
Having Sauce Gardner, Ward, and Walley all starting for the first time together will help immensely in coverage, while Buckner's return can bring some life to a sometimes-stagnant pass rush.
RAVENS
WEDNESDAY
- Limited Participant — LB Teddye Buchanan (knee), WR Zay Flowers (hamstring), DT Nnamdi Madubuike (neck), WR Devontez Walker (groin)
Madubuike suffered a season-ending neck injury last September, and Buchanan a torn ACL in December. Neither player is being ruled out for Sunday quite yet. Walker's injury is somewhat new, but his status is also uncertain.
The Colts and Ravens face off on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET at Lucas Oil Stadium on CBS.
