The Indianapolis Colts snapped a nine-game losing streak on Sunday with their 19-17 win over the Houston Texans. They'd also been on a five-game losing streak against Houston dating back to 2023.

As the season continues to develop in its early stages and the coaches navigate injuries and figure out who's best to use in certain situations, snap counts are beginning to evolve as well.

On Sunday, backup quarterback Anthony Richardson Sr. was the only active player who did not play. Inactive players were quarterback Riley Leonard (emergency QB3), running back DJ Giddens, wide receivers Ashton Dulin and Darius Slayton, interior offensive lineman Dalton Tucker, and edge defender George Gumbs Jr.

OFFENSE

  • QB Daniel Jones: 71 (100%)
  • LT Bernhard Raimann: 71 (100%)
  • LG Quenton Nelson: 71 (100%)
  • C Tanor Bortolini: 71 (100%)
  • RG Matt Goncalves: 71 (100%)
  • RT Jalen Travis: 71 (100%)
  • TE Tyler Warren: 67 (94%)
  • RB Jonathan Taylor: 60 (85%)
  • WR Laquon Treadwell: 56 (79%)
  • WR Keenan Allen: 52 (73%)
  • WR Josh Downs: 48 (68%)
  • TE Mo Alie-Cox: 27 (38%)
  • TE Drew Ogletree: 21 (30%)
  • RB Seth McGowan: 11 (15%)
  • WR Deion Burks: 10 (14%)
  • OT Luke Tenuta: 2 (3%)
  • WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine: 1 (1%)

This was the Colts' first full game without top wide receiver Alec Pierce, who left last week's game early with an aggravated heel injury. The team also remains without receiver Ashton Dulin, who is dealing with an ankle injury that's cost him two games.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine was elevated to the practice squad for this matchup, and Anthony Gould was officially signed to the active roster from the practice squad last week, although he only plays on special teams. Laquon Treadwell led the way in receiver snaps, with Josh Downs curiously getting the fewest among the starting receivers. This may have been due to heavy personnel while attempting to establish the run.

Rookies Seth McGowan and Deion Burks both saw a career high in snaps on Sunday.

DEFENSE

  • LB Akeem Davis-Gaither: 54 (100%)
  • S Cam Bynum: 54 (100%)
  • CB Charvarius Ward Sr.: 52 (96%)
  • CB Sauce Gardner: 49 (91%)
  • DT DeForest Buckner: 48 (89%)
  • ED Arden Key: 44 (81%)
  • LB Jaylon Carlies: 37 (69%)
  • DT Grover Stewart: 36 (67%)
  • S A.J. Haulcy: 34 (63%)
  • CB Justin Walley: 32 (59%)
  • ED Laiatu Latu: 27 (50%)

  • S Hunter Wohler: 17 (31%)
  • LB Bryce Boettcher: 16 (30%)
  • DT Adetomiwa Adebawore: 15 (28%)
  • DT Tim Smith: 10 (19%)
  • ED Caden Curry: 9 (17%)
  • LB CJ Allen: 5 (9%)
  • CB Cam Taylor-Britt: 2 (4%)

The Colts' defensive tackle play was worth noting. DeForest Buckner is amazingly playing as much as ever coming off 2025 neck surgery, and he's doing very well. Backup Jerry Tillery may be starting to give way to younger players. He played 53% of the defensive snaps in Week 1 compared to just 41% and 48% in Weeks 2 and 3, respectively. Adetomiwa Adebawore has remained steady, seeing 27%, 30%, and 28%. Tim Smith has been rather gameplan-specific, playing 19% in Week 1, 4% in Week 2, and back up to 19% in Week 3.

The Colts are interested in what Adebawore has to offer while lined up next to Buckner, as both players ended Sunday's game with 1.5 sacks.

“Tomi's quickness that he has that he can use on guards, and Buck’s Buck. For as big as he is, athletic as he is, they are very, very different," Colts defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo said on Tuesday. "And I think that they provide different challenges for the guards that they line up on. So, to your point, we try to get them out there as much as possible together in those situations, and we’ll continue to do so.”

Rigoberto Sanchez saw a slight uptick in usage due to taking over kickoff duties from Spencer Shrader. Shrader felt some groin discomfort during pregame warmups, and while he played, they didn't overload him. Shrader was ultimately a perfect 4-of-4 on field goals and converted his only extra point attempt.
