The Indianapolis Colts (2-5) attempt to snap their three-game win streak on Sunday on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars at EverBank Stadium.
It's also an attempt to quiet the noise around recent massive moves made by the team in the form of firing general manager Chris Ballard and trading cornerstone pieces Quenton Nelson and DeForest Buckner. The Colts will also attempt to snap their road losing streak to the Jaguars, which spans 12 years and 11 attempts.
Star running back Jonathan Taylor and wide receiver Josh Downs are the center of trade speculation, but they are both active for this game.
As far as injuries go, the Colts are in decent shape, but they do have some noteworthy members of the injury report. Starting slot defender Justin Walley (knee) is out, as is wide receiver/return specialist Anthony Gould. Linebacker Bryce Boettcher (groin) and tight end Drew Ogletree (knee) were questionable. Boettcher is inactive, while Ogletree is good to go.
Jacksonville ruled out starting free safety Antonio Johnson (ankle) on Friday and listed receiver Jakobi Meyers (hamstring, ankle) as questionable. Meyers is active.
Here is a list of both team's inactive players:
COLTS
- LB Bryce Boettcher (groin)
- TE Pharaoh Brown
- DT Kevin Givens
- WR Anthony Gould (concussion)
- OT Charlie Heck
- QB Riley Leonard (emergency QB3)
- CB Justin Walley (knee)
Boettcher's absence should have minimal impact, as Jaylon Carlies and CJ Allen have returned to action in recent weeks. In Walley's spot, it'll likely be Kapena Gushiken playing the nickel. With Gould out, expect to see either Josh Downs or Ashton Dulin at punt returner.
The Colts signed Givens and Heck this week, but both are inactive. Guard Dalton Tucker is active for the first time this season after Nelson's trade.
On Saturday, the Colts elevated edge defender Carl Lawson and cornerback Johnathan Edwards from the practice squad for the game. They'll revert to the practice squad afterward.
JAGUARS
- LB Jamal Hill
- CB Alijah Huzzie
- S Antonio Johnson (ankle)
- DT Albert Regis
- WR CJ Williams
- DE Wesley Williams
Without Johnson, Kaevon Merriweather is behind him on the depth chart. All other inactives are healthy scratches.
