INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indianapolis Colts continue to keep themselves prepared as they are repeatedly faced with injuries in the defensive secondary.

The latest example is a workout the Colts held for former Notre Dame cornerback Troy Pride on Tuesday following a calf injury to slot cornerback Kenny Moore II that is expected to keep him out "a couple of weeks."

Pride (5'11", 195, 27 years old) entered the NFL as a fourth-round pick by the Carolina Panthers in 2020, where he spent the first two seasons of his career. His time in Carolina came to an end due to a knee injury, which cost him his 2021 and 2022 seasons.

After regaining his health, Pride bounced around to the New Orleans Saints (2023), Las Vegas Raiders (2023), Houston Texans (2023-24), and most recently, the Dallas Cowboys (2024). He spent this offseason with the Cowboys as well but was a preseason roster cut.

Pride has been active for 17 career games (nine starts), and totaled 45 tackles (one for loss) and three pass breakups. He saw a great deal of special teams work as a rookie with 140 snaps, but very little since then. According to Pro Football Focus, the majority of his career defensive snaps have come on the boundary.

The Colts have cornerbacks Moore, Charvarius Ward Sr., Xavien Howard, Mekhi Blackmon, and Johnathan Edwards on the active roster, with Hilton, Chris Lammons, and Keydrain Calligan on the practice squad. Cornerbacks Justin Walley and Jaylon Jones are on the Injured Reserve list.
