The Washington Commanders could be without veteran wide receiver Terry McLaurin in week four against the Indianapolis Colts
The Washington Commanders' offense are likely to have another significant absence on Sunday.
Veteran wide receiver Terry McLaurin is trending towards inactive status ahead of Sunday's week four matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. McLaurin was a late addition to the team's injury report released on Friday after suffering a hamstring injury in practice. Despite initial optimism surrounding his status, Sunday could now mark his first missed game in 2026 with a final decision expected to be made during Sunday's warmups.
It marks a notable blow for not only the offense, but also for McLaurin after proving himself as a significant contributor in the week three win. After amassing nine targets for the second consecutive week, McLaurin led the team in both catches and receiving yards after totaling 77 yards and one touchdown on six catches. McLaurin also leads the team with 141 receiving yards through three games and is one of three Commander wide receivers to eclipse 100 receiving yards already in 2026.
With McLaurin trending toward inactive status, the Commanders will likely have another weapon to help alleviate the strain on the passing game with tight end Chig Okonkwo expected to be available. Okonkwo joined linebacker Frankie Luvu as inactives over the last two games after going down in the week one loss against the Philadelphia Eagles, giving the Commanders an athletic weapon in the offense. Washington is also turning to veteran Marcus Mariota as the starting quarterback after Jayden Daniels was ruled out on Friday. Despite traveling with the team to London, Daniels was limited in practice through the week with the hope that the franchise quarterback will make his return from a dislocated left elbow in the week five matchup against John Harbaugh and the New York Giants at Northwest Stadium. Washington is also expected to be without running back Rachaad White on Sunday, paving the way for veteran Austin Ekeler to make his season debut. The team also announced that running back Craig Reynolds joined linebacker Ale Kaho were elevated from the practice squad ahead of Sunday's meeting.
The Colts will also have their own injury to work through in the wide receiver room with veteran Keenan Allen, who was linked to the Commanders this offseason, ruled out on Saturday morning due to a groin injury. The Colts elevated wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine in a corresponding move.
With a chance to climb back to .500 overall, the Commanders will serve as the home team in the week four matchup with kickoff set for 9:30 AM ET inside Wembley Stadium.
