The Washington Commanders are expected to host a pair of top-15 picks on top-30 visits ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft
The Washington Commanders are reportedly bringing in two more top draft prospects in for top-30 visits, including one of the top wide receiver prospects available.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported on Saturday morning that USC wide receiver Makai Lemon is expected to meet with the Commanders, one of several teams he's expected to visit. Rapoport added that the Chiefs hosted Lemon on a visit on Thursday while the Miami Dolphins, New York Giants and New York Jets are also expected to host him.
It's an understandable development for Washington given the need at wide receiver, and there's reason to believe that the former Biletnikoff Award winner is the best roster fit. In the realistic scenario that the Commanders eventually add Brandon Aiyuk to the 2026 roster to pair opposite of veteran Terry McLaurin, Lemon would complement the room as an electric slot receiver who thrives with big plays after the catch.
During his three seasons with the Trojans from 2023 to 2025, Lemon played in 33 games, starting 17, and became a Unanimous All-American and the 2025 Fred Biletnikoff Award winner. He declared for the NFL Draft after his junior season and is widely projected as a top-15 selection.
But Lemon is also one of two new prospects to set a visit with the Commanders with linebacker Sonny Styles also getting a closer look at the organization. Washington has been a team tied to multiple Buckeyes with a chance for Ohio State to produce four top-ten selections, but Styles could also materialize into a top five selection like Arvell Reese.
Washington had a large group in attendance for the Buckeyes' Pro Day in late March, while Styles revealed he planned to meet with both the Commanders and Dallas Cowboys.
General manager Adam Peters raved about Styles on the Kay and Adams show earlier in the week with intrigue around the former Buckeye in a linebacker room that added Leo Chenal and returns Frankie Luvu and Jordan Magee in 2026.
Styles ended his college career as a co-captain with 41 starts and 55 appearances, earning first team All American honors after leading the Buckeyes with 82 total tackles including 46 solo. He also combined for seven sacks and 17 tackles for loss over his final two seasons, becoming one of the best players not just in the Big Ten, but in the country.
Lemon and Styles join the long list of prospects in the mix for the Commanders, who enter the first round of the NFL Draft with no need to "reach for anything."
