Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is one of four quarterbacks who will be featured on the upcoming Netflix docuseries this fall.
While all the attention has been centered on the upcoming 2026 season and changes to be made, fans will get a chance to watch the behind the scenes of one star Washington Commander during the 2025 season on TV.
Netflix announced that Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels will be among those featured in season three of the hit Netflix docuseries 'Quarterback,' Netflix announced on Wednesday afternoon. Daniels joins former Cleveland and Cincinnati quarterback Joe Flacco, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield and Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Cam Ward.
The docuseries, produced by NFL Films, Omaha Productions and 2PM Productions, is set to hit Netflix on July 14.
While the behind the scenes footage could be fun to watch for many, it likely will provide a much different perspective for Daniels compared to the rest of the quarterbacks.
After winning Rookie of the Year and leading Washington to an NFC Championship game appearance against the Philadelphia Eagles on the road in 2024, Daniels was limited to just four full games and seven appearances in his second season.
Daniels first suffered a sprained knee in the week two loss against the Green Bay Packers, sidelining him for two weeks. After returning to lead Washington to the only non-divisional road win of the season against the Los Angeles Chargers in week five, Daniels would then suffer a hamstring strain in the fourth quarter of the week seven matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
Yet that sidelined him for just one game after returning in week nine vs. Seattle, but that appearance would also be cut short after suffering a dislocated left elbow that sidelined him again for nearly one month.
With the season well out of reach, Daniels returned for the week 14 blowout loss against the Minnesota Vikings before exiting the game in the third quarter, ultimately re-aggrevating his left elbow injury that would sideline him for the season.
It isn't the storybook season that fans would want an in-depth perspective on, but for a young quarterback likely approaching contract extension talks next offseason, the upcoming season of the Netflix series will give additional insight into Daniels' mindset amid the recovery process.
Of course, with Daniels fully recovered and expected to lead the team into year one of the David Blough offense, the possibility of watching a healthy Daniels while also getting a glimpse into the rear-view mirror could add to the fan interest as the former LSU and Arizona State star looks to shed any lingering doubt about injury concerns.
