The Washington Commanders worked out several offensive linemen and cornerbacks following Saturday's training camp practice
Saturday marked the first practice with fans in attendance for the Washington Commanders as head coach Dan Quinn kicked off the day with a mixed bag of injury news and Nick Allegretti still sidelined. That led the Commanders to work out a handful of players, per the transaction wire.
C Gus Hartwig
A former undrafted rookie out of Purdue following the 2025 NFL Draft, Hartwig signed as a UDFA with the New York Jets in May 2025 before being waived and placed on injured reserve two months later, then waived by the organization this past May.
C Trey Hill
A former sixth round pick out of Georgia in 2021, Hill also spent time on the Tennessee Titans practice squad earlier this offseason after stints with the Cincinnati Bengals, Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears. The bulk of his time came with the Bengals where he started in three games as a rookie and appeared in 24 games through his first two seasons with the franchise. Yet he then materialized into a backup for his final two seasons with the Bengals before bouncing around the practice squads the rest of the way.
G Joe Michalski
A former undrafted free agent following the 2025 NFL Draft, Michalski signed a three year deal worth roughly $3 million in April 2025, yet moved to the practice squad four months later before being waived this past January.
TE Chris Myarick
The 30 year old is looking to crack onto an NFL roster after stints on the practice squad with the Miami Dolphins, New York Giants, Cincinnati Bengals and Houston Texans -- including two stints in both Miami and New York. His second stint with the Giants materialized with both a catch and touchdown in week 12 of the 2021 season before being waived following the regular season.
TE Donald Parham
Could a second stint materialize? Parham was with the team prior to the name change in June 2019 after a minicamp tryout, but briefly stuck on the practice squad before being waived less than one week later. Parham became a more recognized name within the NFL during his four year stint with the Los Angeles Chargers where he totaled 764 yards and 11 touchdowns on 64 catches. Parham tore his Achilles during OTAs with the Pittsburgh Steelers last summer, sidelining him for the 2025 season.
CB Eli Ricks
After a three year stint with the Philadelphia Eagles where he was part of the rotation that won a Super Bowl, appearing in 16 games in 2023, Ricks fell out of the rotation in year two after totaling just two tackles across seven appearances. The 6-foot-2 cornerback was then waived ahead of the 2025 season, then sticking on the practice squad before being released midseason.
TE John Stephens
After signing with the Dallas Cowboys as a UDFA while Dan Quinn served as defensive coordinator, Stephens suffered a torn ACL in the 2023 preseason before suffering another torn ACL on Oct 24, 2024. Stephens was then waived ahead of the 2025 regular season then released in mid-November. Stephens is also the son of former NFL running back, John Stephens.
CB Kary Vincent
Could an XFL bounceback materialize? Vincent, a former seventh round pick in 2021, has played in the XFL since 2022 with multiple teams before beginning his NFL career with the Denver Broncos then Philadelphia Eagles. Vincent last suited up for the Houston Gamblers after being selected in the 2026 UFL Draft where he totaled a pair of interceptions and ten pass breakups across 13 games.
QB EJ Warner
The son of former NFL quarterback Kurt Warner, EJ threw for over 10,800 yards and 71 touchdowns to 48 interceptions while completing 61.6% of his passes through his college career. He also started in all but one of the 42 games he appeared in where he amassed a 5-15 record during his two seasons at Temple, then a 4-7 finish at Rice in 2024. Yet his senior season materialized into a career year after leading Fresno State to a 7-3 record and completing over 69% of his passes.
CB Dee Williams
After spending the 2024 season with the Seattle Seahawks, Williams spent time on the practice squad for both the New York Giants and Cleveland Browns in 2025.
