WR Deebo Samuel, RB Chris Rodriguez, edge Von Miller among the over 30 free agents for the Washington Commanders to open the 2026 offseason.

The Washington Commanders ended their season with the fifth win in 2025 including third against the division after securing a 24-17 win against the Eagles, spoiling Philadelphia's chances at a two-seed heading into the start of the postseason.

The win did cement the Commanders draft status with the organization set to pick inside the top ten for the second time in three seasons, but where they pick isn't as much of a debate as how the team got here.

Set to meet with local media on Monday, general manager Adam Peters and head coach Dan Quinn now prepare for the 2026 offseason with general manager Adam Peters tasked with a much different to-do list than a year ago.

Washington has now suffered a 5-12 finish after Sunday's season-finale win at Philadelphia, playing spoiler with the Eagles in the mix for a two seed.

But it's a much different feeling compared to 2023 given the Commanders were expected to build on a strong year one under head coach Dan Quinn and rookie Jayden Daniels. Granted, injuries played a big hand in the Commanders' fate in 2025 with Daniels on the field with both wide receivers Terry McLaurin and Deebo Samuel for just three games with the last being a 31-0 loss at Minnesota in what proved to be Daniels' final game of the season.

Washington will now look to upgrade its wide receiver and tight end room along with nearly the entire defense after ranking among the worst NFL defenses in every major statistical category. That also spells uncertainty for the future of defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr., who had play calling duties revoked after the 44-22 loss vs. Detroit midseason.

With fans looking to now turn the page, the good news is Washington is set for its second top ten draft pick over the last three years with the Commanders set to select seventh overall.

The better news is that Washington also enters the offseason among the most cap space in the NFL with at least $81 million in cap space, per Overthecap.com, ranked sixth in the NFL and second-most among NFC teams behind the Los Angeles Rams.

But with over 35 free agents heading into the offseason, a lot of that money will be spent on restocking several positions, including two units with only one from the 2025 season currently returning in quarterback Jayden Daniels and running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt. So who will enter the offseason seeking a new contract? Full list below:
