The Washington Commanders will be without both Treylon Burks and Dyami Brown against the Los Angeles Rams in week nine
The Washington Commanders will have to navigate through additional injuries in week nine after the final injury report revealed two weapons on offense will be sidelined.
Both wide receivers Dyami Brown and Treylon Burks have been ruled inactive in Washington's week nine game against the Los Angeles Rams. After being a limited participant on Thursday, Brown did not practice on Friday after injuring his calf, setting the stage for him to miss his first game of the season. Burks, meanwhile, was limited through the week with a foot injury before officially being sidelined.
It marks a notable injury for Washington given just now two wide receivers on the active roster have caught a pass from quarterback Jayden Daniels in 2026 as both Stefon Diggs and rookie Antonio Williams look to step up in a pivotal game at home. Burks sits third on the team with 233 receiving yards in 2026, while accounting for two of the team's 11 receiving touchdowns. Dyami Brown, meanwhile, has 94 yards on nine catches and 16 targets in his return to Washington.
With both Daron Payne and Javon Kinlaw placed on injured reserve in a massive question for the Commanders' defensive line depth, the status of defensive tackle Jer'Zhan Newton also remains an important question after drawing a questionable tag ahead of his potential season debut.
Yet the Rams are also battling through notable injuries ahead of Sunday after cornerback Jaylen Watson was ruled out with a shoulder injury.
Whether the Rams have their other star cornerback in Trent McDuffie available is also a question mark ahead of Sunday after he did not practice on Friday due to a back injury, leaving him questionable in week nine. McDuffie is one of five players to draw a questionable tag alongside tight end Colby Parkinson, inside linebacker Grant Stuard, wide receiver Jordan Whittington and safety Kam Curl, the former seventh round pick who spent the first four seasons of his NFL career in Washington.
After initially being ruled available, tight end Terrance Ferguson is also ruled out, a late addition to the injury report after suffering a new injury with both an ankle/hamstring injury now sidelining him yet again.
While Los Angeles long snapper Joe Cardona is the lone player to draw a doubtful game designation, the Rams will officially have a key piece available with edge rusher Myles Garrett expected to be available, marking his first game back since week one against the San Francisco 49ers. Garrett returned to practice and was limited this week to add an initial question mark for the Commanders' gameplan. It adds to the questions for Washington's offense amid limited wide receivers and a running back rotation with something to prove in week nine.
Kickoff is set for 1 PM ET at Northwest Stadium.
