The Cowboys lost on the scoreboard, but arguably won in the fact that Brian Schottenheimer's decision to start quarterback Dak Prescott did not fall into catastrophe.

Dak started all 17 games in 2025. After the season that was in 2024 - and the history that's become over his career - that's a win.

Now after finishing third in the league in passing with the second-most yards in a season in his career, Prescott is starting next offseason in a better place than where he was last year.

"It's a huge benefit," he said postgame on Sunday.

"Being healthy is a huge part in it, and I think I'll have the best offseason of my career the way that I approach it and attack it [in 2026]."
