Cowboys WATCH: Legend DeMarcus Ware Still Has NFL Ups cover image

Not to be outdone by any NFL leapers, along comes DeMarcus Ware.

FRISCO - Just the other day, NFL star Myles Garrett used social media to show off - to Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban - his basketball skills, even at 6-4 and 275 pounds.

Not to be outdone, along comes former NFL star - and also DFW-connected DeMarcus Ware.

“Myles, imagine me on one side and you on the other side?” Ware said. “Dude, we will crush the quarterback. Come on, man.”

Again, Garrett's emphasis here wasn't on being a pass-rusher; as a kid growing up in Arlington, who then became a football star at Texas A&M and now the Cleveland Browns, he's talking about hoops.

But the 38-year-old DeMarcus Ware, the legendary Dallas Cowboys star, is talking about "hops.''

In addition to the basketball video, Ware took notice of Garrett’s gone-viral box jump video, in which the Browns defensive end managed to pull off a 64-inch box jump.

That came following his basketball highlights video that featured Garrett asking Cuban if the Mavs need a "big guard'' ... yes, bigger than the one they already employ in All-Star Luka Doncic.

After 12 years of playing in the NFL, can the nine-time Pro Bowler Ware also get up? He stacked his mats up to 66 inches — two more than Garrett — but also allowed himself a bit of a running start.

Ware has not played in the NFL since 2016, but likes to joke and tease about making a return. That's not really happening. But his rare athleticism, and the work he puts in in the gym? That's never going to leave D-Ware.
