"He's fine to go,'' said coach Mike McCarthy of star "Lion-backer'' Micah Parsons, who is OK despite exiting practice with an injury a day ago.

The Dallas Cowboys let out a sign of relief on Wednesday as they announced that the leg issue that forced Micah Parsons out of the previous day's training camp workout is nothing serious.

"He's fine to go,'' said coach Mike McCarthy, suggesting the star "Lion-backer'' should be able to practice despite having had his calf area taped up by the training staff and remaining on the sideline on Tuesday.

Parsons indicated that he got kicked in the leg and that he would have the medical staff take an extended look at the issue.

But for a moment? The Cowboys were a bit worried, and understandably so. Micah's exit coincided with the first appearance of the just-re-signed All-Pro guard Zack Martin, the news of his signing causing an "eruption'' of positivity in camp.

But now the Parsons news can add to that enthusiasm. There are other injuries youngsters who are uncertain for Saturday's preseason action against the Seattle Seahawks. ... a game that Micah was destined to watch, as McCarthy has essentially declared that his top two dozen or so Cowboys will not be playing in the preseason.

That group is topped by Parsons, who is in the conversation for best player in the NFL. So getting him healthy before the Week 1 opener against the New York Giants is all that matters ... and he's back on track to be ready for just that.
