The Cowboys tried to trade for Maxx Crosby, but were rebuffed three times. Could they go back again?

Much has been made of the Dallas Cowboys' attempts to lure Maxx Crosby away from the Las Vegas Raiders.

Jerry Jones and his front office sent three separate offers to the Raiders for Maxx, with each one offering more than the last.

But the Raiders remained defiant that they wanted two first-round picks. As such, Dallas said, "Thanks, but no thanks."

The Baltimore Ravens initially were happy to part ways with two first-round picks for Crosby, only for Maxx to reportedly fail his physical. Baltimore walked back on the deal, and a day later signed Trey Hendrickson.

Make of that what you will.

Since then, Maxx has said all the right things about being a Raider again, and for most, the idea that Las Vegas would trade Maxx now isn't feasible.

Except it might be.

There are still some sections of Cowboys Nation that want Dallas to go back in for Crosby, albeit with a lesser offer, given what we know now.

Given the Cowboys' pass rush needs, is it something the franchise is still pondering?

Jerry gave a typical "Jerry answer" at the NFL's owners meeting.

"I don't anticipate standing here right now, revisiting that situation," Jerry said. "I don't anticipate it. Is it possible? Yes."

So the Cowboys don't anticipate a move for Maxx. But it is possible.

That's a whole lot of nothing.

Then there is Myles Garrett and the Cleveland Browns' changing of the language in his contract that shifts bonuses to later dates. For those around the league, that is something a team does when it is considering a trade.

Browns general manager Andrew Berry stated Garrett is not up for trade, but that hasn't stopped us from thinking the two-time Defensive Player of the Year could get dealt.

The Cowboys showed real intent to try to bring in Maxx. Three different offers tell me the franchise is serious about adding a game-changer at the position.

And if you are that aggressive and miss, it suggests that if you are convinced you need that sort of player, you won't be stopped from going after them... or anyone else.

So while Jerry says he doesn't anticipate a move for Maxx, and Cleveland's general manager has shut down the idea of a Myles trade, we all know one thing.

We live in a world where both could easily get dealt in the coming months.
