The Cowboys' offense is considered by many to be elite, and the defense has a lot of question marks, exactly like a certain AFC team.
We know that the Dallas Cowboys boast one of the best offenses in football under Brian Schottenheimer.
Dak Prescott, along with CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Javonte Williams, and Jake Ferguson, is a great group of weapons, but, as we know, they can't do it all by themselves.
The defense has to do its part too.
Last year, the offense was stuck doing everything, while the defense was unable to do its share of the heavy lifting. Yes, the trade of Micah Parsons left Dallas weak, but many would still have expected better output.
Now, as we look ahead to the new season, with Christian Parker at the helm of the defense, the Cowboys appear to be in a good spot on paper to return to the postseason.
And for Bart Scott, who was on ESPN's GetUp, he has likened Dallas to a certain AFC team that boasts an elite offense, but a terrible defense.
"Pretty much the Cincinnati Bengals of the NFC," Scott said. "We know that their offense is so high-powered that their defense just needs to be middle of the pack.
"I think this is a very user-friendly defense. Sometimes, when you trade in a great player for a good player, but that gives you a better team, you talk about the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and losing a guy like Micah Parsons to flip him to Rashan Gary gives you a more complete player. But with Micah Parsons, you don't get Quinnen Williams, you don't get Kenny Clark."
With Micah gone, the Cowboys have managed to get a decent enough return, with Kenny Clark, Quinnen Williams, Malachi Lawrence, Devon Moore, and LT Overton. Dallas also sent a first to the New York Jets for Quinnen.
So, a more well-rounded defense instead of having a bona fide stud in Parsons.
Time will tell if the move was worth it, and how the Cowboys' defense fares in 2026 will have a big impact on the season.
For as good as Dak and Co. are, they can't do it all, so the defense has to come to the party. In fact, it doesn't even have to be good, just average, and Dallas is in the playoff race up to its eyeballs.
There was much conversation when Micah was traded, now we are about to see if the Cowboys can shake that Bengals likeness and have a high-powered offense and a capable defense.
