The Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles have become a fierce rivalry over the years, with the two teams generally splitting the season series.
The Eagles win at home, and so do the Cowboys.
But in 2026, the vibes around the Cowboys are different, and so are the vibes around Philadelphia, with both set to be among the contenders in the NFC. How far each goes remains to be seen.
What we also know is that the Cowboys have a chance to play the role of party pooper on October 26 when they travel to Lincoln Financial Field to play the Eagles.
Why?
Well, according to Jeff McLane of the Inquirer, Eagles owner Jeffery Lurie is being inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame at halftime of their Monday Week 8 clash.
No doubt a big moment for the Eagles and Lurie, as the Cowboys will bring plenty of eyeballs to the game, meaning it will get a lot of coverage.
But in doing so, the Cowboys have a chance to ruin the Hall of Fame celebrations of the Eagles and Lurie, because, of course, right?
However, it might not be as simple as winning if history has anything to do with it.
The Cowboys on the road in Philadelphia are 1-4 in their last five, with their last win coming back in 2022 when they won 51-26 in Week 8.
So, it has been a long time since Dallas tasted victory on rival soil, so what better time than this season when their owner is getting inducted into the Hall of Fame?
It is a great achievement, no doubt, for Lurie, but the Cowboys can be a thorn in Philadelphia's side, and given that it is a primetime game, the entire NFL world will be watching.
So, to get a win over the Eagles would be great by itself, but the added carrot of "ruining" the Hall of Fame induction would be the cherry on top, most likely for Cowboys Nation more so than the team.
The rivalry is becoming one of the biggest in football, and the latest installment has the chance for the Cowboys to seriously spoil a big Philadelphia celebration.
