The Dallas backup outmuscles every elite NFL starter to claim a perfect 99 rating, proving his impressive arm strength remains the most explosive weapon in virtual football.

Joe Milton may not be the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys in 2026. In fact, he might not even make the team.

But if Madden NFL 27 is any indication, no quarterback in football possesses a stronger arm.

According to the latest ratings revealed ahead of Madden 27's release, Milton received a perfect 99 throw power rating, giving him the highest mark in the game at the position. The rating places the Cowboys' backup quarterback ahead of some of the NFL's biggest names, reinforcing the cannon arm that helped make him one of the league's most intriguing developmental passers.

The rating comes despite Milton entering the season listed as Dallas' QB2 behind Dak Prescott. While Prescott remains firmly entrenched as the Cowboys' starter, Milton's elite physical tools have continued to generate buzz since he arrived in Dallas. ... and he's off to a good start at camp in Oxnard as he competes with Sam Howell for the backup job.

But this much is true: His arm strength has never been questioned, and Madden's ratings team clearly believes no one throws a harder football.

Milton joined the Cowboys after spending his rookie season with the New England Patriots, where he flashed his immense potential in limited action. Although opportunities were scarce behind Drake Maye, Milton impressed with his combination of size, athleticism, and arm talent whenever he stepped onto the field. Those traits ultimately convinced Dallas to bring him in as a developmental backup behind Prescott.

This is now the second year in a row that Milton has stood alone at the top with a 99 throw power rating, as he also earned that honor last season with Madden 26.

Of course, arm strength alone doesn't determine success at quarterback. Accuracy, decision-making, and processing defenses remain the biggest factors in becoming an NFL starter. That's why Prescott continues to lead the Cowboys' quarterback room despite Milton owning arguably the strongest arm in the league.

Still, the rating serves as another reminder of why Dallas believes Milton is worth developing. At just 26 years old, he has the physical tools that coaches simply can't teach. If he continues improving the finer points of the position, the Cowboys could eventually have one of the NFL's most talented backup quarterbacks—or perhaps even a future starter.

For now, Prescott remains the unquestioned leader under center, but Cowboys fans playing Madden 27 will certainly enjoy unleashing Milton's elite arm. Whether it's launching deep balls down the sideline or firing passes through tight windows, no quarterback in this year's game will be able to match the throw power of Dallas' backup QB.
