The right guard made a good first impression in his rookie year, but can he build on it in Year 2?
Dallas Cowboys right guard Tyler Booker announced himself to the NFL in his rookie season, being a staple of Brian Schottenheimer's offense.
Big things were expected of Booker, and while there were some growing pains, he still managed to play 14 games and played well for the most part.
Per PFF, Booker earned a grade of 72.0, which ranked him 16th out of 81 guards, while his run block grade was 76.8, ranking him seventh among guards. He also allowed 25 total pressures, which led to three sacks and six quarterback hits.
So there is plenty to like from Booker's game, but also plenty to improve on, and for Tyler, he's got perhaps the best player to learn from in Tyler Smith.
Dallas' star left guard, Smith, Booker, along with Cooper Beebe, anchor the interior of the offensive line, and you could make the case that the Cowboys' offensive line is set for improvement in 2026.
But as far as what to expect from Booker in Year 2? Smith gave a definitive answer at the Reliant homerun derby.
"I think the sky is the limit," Smith said. "He approaches every day the right way, he's a guy that's constantly trying to get better, constantly asking questions. We're on the phone all the time. I think sky is limit in this second year. He's starting from a great launch point in his career for that rookie year for sure."
Our Mike Fisher says the Cowboys believe Booker has "All-Pro talent.'' And we heard former Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy talk about the "second-year leap" where players take that next step in their development, and considering Booker's rookie season, much more is expected.
Not just from him though, the entire line.
Tyler Guyton gets another offseason under his belt, as do Smith, Beebe, and Terence Steele. Dak Prescott's protection, in theory, should be better than it was in 2025, as he was sacked 31 times.
But in order to do that, good days of production this offseason must be stacked, and when training camp rolls around, that is where the development will come.
Going up against Christian Parker's defense, the offensive line will have its work cut out to keep Dak clean, but there is more than enough talent to make it a brick wall in front of Prescott.
And Booker might be leading the way in Year 2.
