Cowboys' Dak Prescott Makes Bold Announcement: 'My Best Is Ahead' cover image

The 2025 season was one of the best of Dak Prescott's career, and No. 4 has confidence that 2026 will be even better.

The 2025 season for Dak Prescott was one of his best with the Dallas Cowboys.

That might seem a little odd given the 7-9-1 record and no playoffs, but Dak was in a groove we haven't seen often in his career, thanks to Brian Schottenheimer.

Armed with CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, Jake Ferguson, Javonte Williams, KaVonte Turpin, and the up-and-coming Ryan Flournoy, Prescott was elite for the majority of the season.

Leading a Cowboys offense that was one of the best in football, Prescott threw for 4,552 yards, 30 TDs, and just 10 interceptions to earn his fourth Pro Bowl nod.

At one point early in the season, Prescott's name was in the MVP conversation; that's how good he was playing.

Yes, that faded as the losses piled up, some of which were no fault of Dak's play, but there's no denying Prescott was one of the better players at the quarterback position in 2025.

Now, after playing 10 years in the league and still playing at such a high level, Dak was asked by Scott Van Pelt on ESPN how he sees his 10 years in the NFL and what is coming next.

"My best is coming ahead," Prescott said via ESPN. "I think about when I came into this league, to be a Pro Bowler as a rookie, to be back 10 years later, it's a blessing, and I don't take anything for granted."

With Prescott dealing with injury issues that, prior to 2025, saw him play just one full season out of his last three years, there was a thought that those injuries would start to pile up.

But Dak managed to play all 17 games for the Cowboys, and perhaps the most important thing is that he finished the year in good health.

No surgery's needed, and No. 4 is already in offseason mode.

And Dak reflected over his career and what he sees in his future.

"The journey, it's been a lot, some good years, some bad years, some changes in the organization, and I've grown through it all," Dak added. "Each year I feel like I'm a better player, better quarterback, and there's no reason that I don't think that next year's going to fall right in line.

If the Cowboys bring back Pickens and Williams, coupled with another full offseason to get used to Schottenheimer's scheme, Dak is right: there's no reason to think 2026 won't at least be as successful as 2025.

In fact, you could make the case that in Year 11, we might see the best version of Dak Prescott.
