The Dallas Cowboys' offense has seen both George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb get their licks of the ice cream this season, but lately, it has been George's show.
With Back-to-back 140-yards-plus games along with nine receptions and a touchdown last week, Pickens is the hot hand as the Cowboys prepare to face the Kansas City Chiefs today on Thanksgiving.
Much has been made of George's status as a downfield threat, and that was on show in the 24-21 win against the Philadelphia Eagles last week as Dak Prescott launched a deep ball with Pickens having two Eagles defenders near him, yet No. 3 rose above both and hauled in the catch for a huge gain.
Lamb also had a monster 48-yard gain on a one-on-one as well, as both of Dak's receivers proved yet again, that when they have single coverage, they aren't covered, they're open.
"If he's one-on-one, he's not covered, not in my mind, anyways," Prescott said of Pickens. "I think with the proper ball, any DB out there just his size, his ability to go up and make a play, and not for just him, it's for CeeDee as well.
"You get a guy one-on-one with those guys, I have so much confidence in our guys going to make the play. It's not even a 50/50 ball, the favor lies in our hands. I just got to give them opportunity."
With so many weapons at Dak's disposal, including Javonte Williams, Jake Ferguson, and KaVontae Turpin, it can be tricky to decide where to go with the ball, given there are so many mouths to feed.
But when you have Pickens and Lamb as your top two weapons, it is hard not to look their way often, and particularly if the pair have a one-on-one, yeah, Dak's going in that direction all day, every day.
"I tell them, when we break the huddle, just throughout this game plan, these process, you run hard and you make it obvious to me that it's one-on-one downfield, you're going to get the opportunity," Prescott added.
And against the Chiefs, Pickens and Lamb will be tasked with helping the 5-5-1 Cowboys slay the 6-5 AFC champs, and while we aren't sure how many one-on-one matchups the high-flying duo will get, any that they do, Dak's going in their direction.
