The Cowboys' offseason program hasn't officially begun yet, but Dak and Pickens have already been hard at work.

The Dallas Cowboys' offseason program hasn't officially started yet, but Dak Prescott and George Pickens have already been putting in the work.

With Dak known for taking his skill-position players on trips to build chemistry and to work on their game, it is the first offseason that Pickens has been with Prescott, working out.

After he was a late offseason addition last year, Pickens now gets a full workload with Dak and the other receivers before the official stuff starts.

Pickens has been in the headlines this offseason with his future taking center stage as Dallas slapped the franchise tag on George, but since then, no talks have taken place over a new deal.

Having until July 15 to get a long-term deal done, if that isn't achieved, Pickens plays on the tag in 2026, which is roughly $27 million.

As for Dak, at the Children’s Cancer Fund Gala in Dallas, he spoke about his offseason with Pickens.

"We're just working, no different than any other offseason, obviously, first real offseason of George being a part of it," Prescott said on Friday. "Has shown up, been active, has looked great, super excited.

"Leaving all the contract talks and that to the front office."

So Pickens appears locked in at this early stage, and right now, that is all you can hope for.

There are some who think Pickens could be one to skip the offseason workouts as he waits for a long-term deal. CeeDee Lamb did something similar when he wanted his new deal, and we know that Lamb wasn't a fan of holding out.

In fact, he stated that he wasn't himself for the first portion of the year because he hadn't banked those crucial reps with Dak and the offense at training camp.

It isn't known if Pickens is willing to go that far to secure his big payday, but it is definitely on the table as an option.

After a stellar season, Pickens earned his first-ever Pro Bowl nod, but this offseason, with other NFL teams about to table an offer for Pickens, according to Stephen Jones, no team has come calling.

So it appears Pickens' options are rather limited, and Dallas holds all the cards in this negotiation.

Still, it doesn't appear to be affecting Pickens, as he is already getting down to work with Dak and other Cowboys weapons this offseason.
