The Cowboys can go in many directions in the first round of the NFL Draft, but one analyst has zeroed in on one player.
The Dallas Cowboys' first-round draft plan has captured the attention of the NFL world, with no one truly knowing what the franchise will do with two first-round picks.
We have seen several mock drafts that have the Cowboys moving up to No. 6 to take a Sonny Styles or Caleb Downs, but that then limits how many good players the team can get for Christian Parker.
Most have an idea of what they think will happen at No. 12 and No. 20, but there are so many variables that can't be factored in.
How the draft board falls will ultimately determine what Dallas does, and while some don't see a big trade up to No. 6 happening, you can never discount anything in the NFL.
For Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon, he's done a piece on each team and what he thinks they will do, and what they should do in the first round.
And when it came to Dallas, he thinks the franchise will and should draft Miami edge Rueben Bain Jr.
"This would be a dream situation for the Cowboys, who need more across the board on defense but could catch a free-falling Bain to immediately bolster a pass rush that has major question marks even after the acquisition of Rashan Gary," Gagnon wrote.
"Bain has a potent combination of size and quickness and can deliver right away. They'd want to run this draft card up. The only other guy who I wouldn't fault them for in this spot is Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy, who has a mega-high ceiling."
So Gagnon is all in on Bain to Dallas.
But we're not sure Gagnon is at all plugged in to what the Cowboys are thinking here.
The Styles and Downs momentum has picked up over the last week, as either in Christian Parker's defense could be a serious game-changer.
With two first-round picks, in an ideal scenario, the Cowboys would see a Downs or Styles fall to No. 12 (highly unlikely) and then add another starting-caliber player at No. 20.
In doing so, Parker gets two starters for his defense, and Dallas is in good shape. But pegging Bain - with the infamous "short arms'' and now the car-wreck controversy as the Cowboys' "dream''? That doesn't sound like info coming from inside The Star.
