Micah is no longer a Cowboy following this year's controversial trade to Green Bay. But Micah is still Micah as he has taken to social media - of course - to express his thoughts.

FRISCO - Former Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons has never been afraid to speak his mind - sometimes much to the chagrin of Cowboys fans and even his (former) bosses here inside The Star.

Micah is no longer a Cowboy following this year's controversial trade to Green Bay.

But Micah is still Micah as he has taken to social media - of course - to express his thoughts.

And this time he might have a point.

FS1's Colin Cowherd, in the wake of the Packers' 10-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on "Monday Night Football,'' took aim at Parsons, citing that the Packers' run defense isn't better with him there.

And Cowherd also singled out Micah saying he didn't have a sack or quarterback hit.

    Micah is still Micah.

    So ...

He couldn't let it slide, opting to quote-tweet on X the clip of Cowherd talking about him.

"😂😂😂😂 We just held Saquon Barkley to 60 rushing yards, and our only losses have been holding teams to 13 points!," Parsons wrote. "Man, sometimes can y’all? Please stfu and enjoy great defense! Why do you think teams come into the games that were going to run the ball on 3rd and long? What effect do you think that is? Please stop giving people’s mics or listening to trash!"

We can argue about Parsons' value to a team in regard to the two first-round draft picks Dallas netted in the swap.

We can also argue about Parsons' value in regard to his $47 million APY salary, by far the largest paycheck given to a defensive player in NFL history.

But arguing that Parsons (who was the NFC Defensive Player of the Month to begin the season) is not an effective player?

    That seems shock-jock'y.

In this particular game, Green Bay's run defense was good against the Eagles, and so was the pass defense, allowing Philly QB Jalen Hurts to throw for a paltry 183 yards.

Somewhere inside the scheme that night, we have a feeling that Micah was effective enough.

But Cowherd's comments were directly aimed at Micah and for the All-Pro not having a big night against the Eagles.

Again, value is a debate-worthy subject. Example Parsons and his run defense has always been a question mark to his critics. But here, there is no doubt that he helped keep the gifted Barkley quiet in the run game.

Micah didn't bite his tongue when it came to Cowherd calling him out, and honestly, and we understand his motivation. ... especially when Cowherd insultingly called him a "splash player.''

But as we've said to a number of Cowboys players over the years: Why are you arguing with people on Twitter who know far less about your job than you do?

Micah would be wise to leave it to the likes of ESPN's Dan Orlovsky, who commented harshly on Cowherd.

"He doesn’t watch tape lol. Tape don’t lie," he posted.

And there you go. Micah doesn't need to defend himself like this, and almost never did. The football facts - sometimes positively, sometimes otherwise - speak for themselves ... without the player lowering himself into a debate that only provides media critics with segment topics and ratings.
