Trevon Diggs has seen his star fade over the past 12 months, but his mother wants him to continue his career in the NFC East.
Life comes at you fast in the NFL, and no one knows that better than former Dallas Cowboys corner Trevon Diggs.
A two-time Pro Bowler and All-Pro in his first three seasons, which was highlighted by his 11 interceptions in 2021, Diggs was on the fast track to being one of the league's best corners for decades.
And Dallas thought so too, signing him to a five-year, $95 million deal in 2023.
But that was as good as it got for Trevon.
Injuries ruined his time in Dallas as the 2022 season was the last time he managed a full season, and his play on the field in his last two years with the Cowboys left a lot to be desired.
Plus, we had the rehab incident last offseason with his knee, which didn't go over too well, and Trevon was shipped off to Green Bay. He played one regular-season game and one playoff game, though he hardly saw the field.
So, you can say his stock has never been lower. But one person wants an NFL team to go after Trevon, and that's his mother.
A post on social media saw Trevon and Stefon's mother want her sons to be with the Washington Commanders in 2026 under Dan Quinn, a coach who Trevon played under in Dallas.
"Let's bring them home. Commanders fans were are you? Let's get a natty 2026. Magic Johnson call me LOL," the post read.
Now, I'll leave the Stefon one alone, although he would be a good addition for Jayden Daniels from a pure receiver standpoint.
But now to Trevon.
How much does he have left in the tank? We have seen videos on social media of him working out, but we are getting close to June, and he's still a free agent, remember there's a reason Green Bay didn't want him back.
Getting properly healthy is key to Diggs having any hope of landing on an NFL roster in 2026.
Will Quinn want Diggs on his defense? Trey Amos and Mike Sainristill are the starters, so Trevon isn't usurping those, but as a rotational piece? Maybe.
Trevon's 2026 tape wasn't great, so he doesn't exactly have a lot to sell to Quinn aside from the fact that they've worked together before.
Is a career lifeline coming in Washington for Trevon? Don't count on it.
