Pickens is prepared to talk to Jerry Jones about his contract, but wants his agent to do the heavy lifting.

This offseason looms large for Dallas Cowboys receiver George Pickens as he chases his first big NFL payday.

A Pro Bowler for the first time, Pickens has made it clear he would like to return in 2026. Dak Prescott, Jerry Jones, and Brian Schottenheimer are just a few who have made their feelings clear on having Pickens return, also.

But the small matter of a contract needs to be discussed first.

And we know that isn't exactly a straightforward thing with Mr. Jones.

With Jerry stating earlier this week he will talk to both George and his agent, David Mulugheta, the next couple of months will be interesting to see how the billionaire owner approaches it.

But is George prepared to talk to Jerry about the numbers of his expected deal?

Kinda.

He said he's “super-prepared" for negotiations.

But he added, "I definitely leave that type stuff to my agent just because I let them talk the deals and all that stuff, but definitely super-prepared."

So, Pickens has made it clear in a six-word summation - "I let them talk the deals'' -- that Mr. Mulugheta will be handling the heavy lifting.

There you have it, Jerry.

There will be no Micah Parsons one-on-one private controversy repeat, at least from George's side.

With the franchise tag looking like the easy decision for both the franchise and the player, it would net Pickens roughly $28 million in 2026 and give the Cowboys another year to fully evaluate No. 3.

But this season, George, aside from a dip in form for two weeks, has been sublime.

Pickens has totaled 1,420 receiving yards and nine touchdowns from 92 receptions. That includes five 100+yard games mixed in.

So, George has been exactly who Dallas had hoped he would be in 2025.

Now the next step is to pay him. And to call the agent in order to do so.
