The Cowboys have been linked with several linebackers over the past two weeks, but will the franchise make a move?

The Dallas Cowboys' draft approach will be a fascinating watch with the franchise holding two first-round picks to help overhaul Christian Parker's defense.

With glaring needs still at linebacker, corner, and edge, the Cowboys have eight total picks to use to fill those holes.

Our own Mike Fisher has previously stated that he thinks the Cowboys will look to add a veteran linebacker before the draft, thus shrinking the need to take one.

We have heard names like Bobby Wagner, Bobby Okereke, Jordyn Brooks, and even Azeez Al-Shaair as potential options.

Plus, there are players like Sonny Styles, Anthony Hill, Jacob Rodriguez and CJ Allen that the Cowboys could take in the draft.

But what if the Cowboys made a move in the draft?

105.3 The Fan's Zach Wolchuck asked Dave Helman what a Cowboys draft could/should look like.

"If it's David Helman's draft, we're sending 92 to Miami for Jordyn Brooks," Helman said on 105.3 The Fan. "That's No. 1. Let's just get that out of the way. And if we gotta throw in some change, that's fine. Let's go get a ready-made bad-(expletive). Jordyn Brooks was so good for Miami last year.

"They're resetting things, they don't need him right now, send 92 over there, throw in some extra change, get him locked up on an extension, now we're cooking with gas."

This isn't the first time we have heard of using Dallas' third-round pick to acquire Brooks.

It would give the Cowboys a stud to lead the linebacker room and someone who can wear the green dot on this defense.

Having made All-Pro last season, Brooks is at the peak of his powers, plus, he's played at least 16 games every year since 2021, so he's always on the field. That should count for a lot.

If Dallas grabs two starters in the first round and adds Brooks to Parker's defense, as Helman stated, the Cowboys will be cooking with gas.

Brooks in Dallas is a move that fans would welcome, plus if what we have been hearing about the No. 12 pick and that someone like Caleb Downs could fall to the Cowboys, the next month could be very fruitful for Brian Schottenheimer's team.
