Dak had one of the best seasons of his career in 2025, but how can he and the Cowboys improve on that? Klayton Adams knows how.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott produced one of his best seasons in 2025, and given that the team had a 7-9-1 record, that might sound odd.
But Prescott and the offense, for the most part, held up their end of the bargain, averaging over 27 points per game (seventh-best), while the defense gave up 30.1 points per game, ranking them dead last.
For Dak, he posted 4,552 yards (third in the league, 30 TDs (fourth), and 10 interceptions en route to his fourth Pro Bowl nod.
Such was the level of Prescott's play that he was in the MVP conversation for the first half of the season. As the losses piled up and the elite-level play dipped at times, that momentum quickly faded.
Still, overall, Dak's season under Brian Schottenheimer and Klayton Adams was among his best.
But how can he get better?
Adams, who was a guest on the NFL Insiders, gave his thoughts.
“I think what the ultimate goal for him is he’s got to play really high-level football every single week," Adams said. "He’s done that a lot throughout his career. We got to make it up in the other areas that have maybe failed him in the past.
"I don’t think it’s about Dak trying to be Superman, it’s Dak being the best version of himself, and us finding ways to make the rest of the offense and the rest of the team better."
Dak played at a high level for the majority of the season, but the second-half fade-outs in the latter stages of the season, where the offense didn't score a second-half touchdown in three straight games, weren't good.
Plus, his protection wasn't the best; against the Minnesota Vikings, Detroit Lions, and Washington Commanders, the offensive line struggled to keep Dak upright.
Just four times in 2025 did Dak not get sacked.
The run game worked well, so too the passing attack, and those are expected to be among the NFL's best again.
But it all starts and stops with Prescott.
If he's healthy, we know what we will be getting from the offense, and that's being an elite unit.
But how the offense evolves as Schottenheimer says will be an interesting watch, so too will how much improvement Prescott will make from last season.
