The Dallas Cowboys' Week 11 win over the Las Vegas Raiders saw two players who Cowboys Nation had been waiting all year to see hit the field finally do just that.
The pair?
*Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, who was on a Pro Bowl trajectory last year before his knee injury.
*Rookie corner Shavon Revel Jr., who tore his ACL in college and was a first-round talent who the Cowboys got in the third round.
The 33-16 win against the Raiders went as expected for the duo, both getting their feet wet in coordinator Matt Eberflus' defense, and both knocking off the rust.
Overshown played just 31 snaps (52 percent), while Revel Jr. managed just 19 as the pair got their first work on the field with real NFL bullets flying.
But now attention turns to the Philadelphia Eagles as the next chapter in this bitter NFC East rivalry gets written, and both will be looked at as key pieces in trying to slow down Jalen Hurts and the Eagles' offense on Sunday at AT&T Stadium.
However, being on a short week, and coming off their first game in nearly a year, can we expect the duo to have a similar game plan this week as the Raiders game?
"Yeah, they will," head coach Brian Schottenheimer said. "It'll be very similar probably to last week's, just because of the close proximity to this game and then turning around and playing against Kansas City. But as you guys know, those pitch counts are a little flexible depending on the type of game and where it's going, but I would say it should be about the same."
So, whether Overshown and Revel play the exact number of snaps as they did last week is unknown, and game script against Las Vegas likely dictated how little the pair was involved.
But the main thing was they got on the field and got used to the rigors of NFL football, but as we know, that first game is one thing, but backing it up is tough, especially on a short week as well.
However the pair acquitted themselves well in their first outing and against Philadelphia, one could imagine that more might be put on their plates as Eberflus' defense showed signs of life last week despite the pair being in and out of the line up.
Revel Jr. and Overshown both got to knock the rust off last week, and as the Eagles come into view, we're thinking that maybe the duo might see the field a little more often on Sunday, pitch counts be damned.
The Cowboys made roster news on Saturday, too, as the team announced it waived CB Kaiir Elam and signed RB Malik Davis from the practice squad.
