The Cowboys missed out on Maxx Crosby, and with the pass rush market declining, the franchise could look to the draft.

The Dallas Cowboys' free agency plans have divided opinion as the franchise hasn't exactly been busting the budget (cue shocked face).

Yes, they've been active in signing Jalen Thompson and Rashan Gary, but they aren't busting the budget moves. In fact, far from it.

Maxx Crosby, on the other hand, would qualify.

Plus, the Cowboys also traded away Osa Odighizuwa and Solomon Thomas on Wednesday, seemingly clearing the decks for what Cowboys Nation hopes is a big fish to land at The Star.

But if it doesn't, then the Cowboys have just added another need to a defense already had too many.

The plus side is that Brian Schottenheimer and his team now have ample draft picks heading into April.

At the time of writing, Dallas has No. 12 and No. 20 (first-round), No. 92 (third round), No. 112 (fourth-round), No. 152, No. 177, and No. 180 (fifth-round) and No. 225 (seventh round).

So that is ample draft capital to fill some holes in the roster.

And it is here where the Cowboys have been linked with a monster pass rusher.

DraftSharks' Shane Hallam, in his latest mock draft, has the Cowboys landing 6-6 Auburn monster Keldrick Faulk.

“Faulk came into 2025 with top-5 potential but had an inconsistent year,” Hallam wrote. “At 290 pounds with an explosive first step, he could be utilized in multiple roles. Faulk’s upside allows him to replace Demarcus Lawrence’s role for the Cowboys.”

We have one problem with Hallam's thoughts here: Dallas might like Faulk at 20. But 12 - which is where he links him here - seems way too high.

Nevertheless ...

Posting 10 sacks across his three college seasons, the numbers don't jump off the page. But 19.5 tackles for loss do.

Still, his numbers aren't that impressive, but as we know, numbers don't always tell the full story, and in Faulk's case, they don't.

He reportedly played across multiple roles in 2025, which limited his sack production.

Armed with what many think is NFL-ready run defense, that will make Dallas' ears prick up, plus his monster build, coupled with his relentless motor, and superb play strength, has him high on a lot of people's draft boards.

So Faulk could easily be on the Cowboys' radar. But we bet it's not as as No. 12.
