The Cowboys have made a host of defensive signings this offseason, so why not one more?
The Dallas Cowboys' offseason has had a defensive flavor, with the franchise adding starters and rotational players for Christian Parker.
The floor of the defense has been raised, but the NFL Draft is still to come, so the Cowboys appear poised to improve further.
But could the Cowboys look to add another veteran to the defense?
We've seen Rashan Gary, PJ Locke, Jalen Thompson, and Cobie Durant all come to The Star, and now a Pro Bowl corner has just become available.
Indianapolis Colts star Kenny Moore II has been granted permission to seek a trade with just one year left on his current deal.
Given the Cowboys have a need at corner, despite the signing of Durant, USA TODAY's Nick Brinkerhoff thinks Dallas is a good landing spot for the veteran.
"Dallas' defense in 2025 was a lot like a parent who has no control over their kid," Brinkerhoff wrote. "The Cowboys allowed opposing offenses to get whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted it. Fixing the defense isn't something that will happen overnight, but the Cowboys also can't afford to simply run it back with the same cast of characters in 2026.
"A full season of Quinnen Williams should help, along with the other additions that have been made this offseason. Improving the secondary still remains a priority and the cost to acquire Moore shouldn't be high. In other words, Dallas fills a key spot with a proven veteran for a fraction of the cost. Everyone wins."
Now, the big question is what will Dallas have to give up to get Moore?
Armed with a handful of fifth-round picks, could Dallas send one to the Colts in exchange for Moore? Possibly.
The other thing is money.
Per Spotrac.com, Moore has a base salary of $9.4 million, so it is more than doable for Dallas. But will it want to?
Needing as many new faces as possible, and ones who can make a difference, Moore's veteran smarts and leadership could be crucial for a Dallas defense in desperate need of it.
If anything, it would be a good piece of business for Dallas, even for one year, to swing a fifth-rounder to the Colts to get Moore. It might mean you don't need a corner in the draft (could still take one), as well.
Could Moore fit in Dallas? We're betting the Cowboys would rather spend draft capital at corner than spend $9.4 million.
