The Cowboys have several players working their way back to full fitness, but we don't know if they'll be ready for offseason team activities.
The Dallas Cowboys' offseason has been going along at a steady pace as the NFL Draft comes into view.
The Cowboys were must-watch as free agency began, largely due to Jerry Jones' budget-busting comment.
Of course, Dallas hasn't busted the budget in the way many had hoped, but it isn't for a lack of trying. The Cowboys were knocked back three times for a trade for Maxx Crosby.
With the offseason activities fast approaching, fans might be wondering who will attend and who won't.
It is worth noting that the early portion of the offseason is voluntary, but most players are expected to be there in some capacity.
But then there are those who are dealing with injuries.
What is their prognosis?
Well, head coach Brian Schottenheimer, who was speaking at the annual league meeting, provided updates on a couple of key players.
The first is edge Donovan Ezeiruaku, who underwent surgery on his hip labrum.
"Doing good, moving around well. I don't think he'll do much full team stuff during the offseason program," Schottenheimer said via dallascowboys.com's Tommy Yarrish.
Yarrish also added that Schottenheimer said Eze is expected to be ready at the start of training camp.
Next was cornerback DaRon Bland, who had surgery on his left foot this offseason.
"Doing great, feels really good," Schottenheimer added.
The Cowboys coach also stated that fellow corner Shavon Revel is "doing good" as he looks to have a full offseason of work after missing it last year due to his ACL injury.
So that is a positive outlook for three key defensive players for Christian Parker this offseason.
Given the scheme change and new coaches, this offseason looms as a critical one for every defensive player to get on the same page and learn everything there is to know about what Parker wants.
Getting on the field for consistent reps in practice will help players gel and put out a good product when the season begins.
Yes, it is early in the offseason, but the fact that Bland, Eze, and Revel are progressing well gives hope that all of Parker's players will be ready to go by training camp.
