Cowboys Poised To Enter 2026 With Three-Headed WR Monster cover image

The Cowboys have CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, but who will complete the trio?

The Dallas Cowboys' offense under Brian Schottenheimer was high-octane for the most part, thanks to CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.

Seen as No. 1 weapons, both Pickens and Lamb tormented defenses in 2025, with defenders unsure who to tryand take away.

You cover Lamb, Pickens pops up for 130 yards on eight catches. You cover Pickens, Lamb goes off for 100+ yards on seven catches.

For most of the year, that was the way forward in the pass game for Dak Prescott, which seems right. You have two top weapons; you might as well use them.

But as the weeks went by, Dallas found itself a trusted weapon, with second-year receiver Ryan Flournoy making a name for himself.

Of Flournoy's 40 receptions, 29 of them went for first downs, with a majority of them being third-down conversions.

When in doubt, Dak went to No. 19. That should tell you all you need to know about Prescott's trust in Flo.

And it appears Ryan's rise to prominence hasn't gone unnoticed by the national media, either.

NFL.com's Kevin Patra has named Flournoy Dallas' unsung hero of the 2025 season.

"The Cowboys found a legit third receiver," Patra wrote. "As a beneficiary of the defensive attention paid to CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, Flournoy thrived, generating 0.09 EPA per route, 11th-best among all receivers with at least 200 routes run.

"Assuming Jerry Jones finds a way to retain Pickens, Dallas will enter 2026 with an excellent trio as the team looks to return to prominence."

It didn't take long for Flournoy to overtake Jalen Tolbert for the WR3 role, with his work on special teams also a big factor.

But it was Flournoy's ability to make a play when his team needed to that was the biggest reason.

With CeeDee Lamb injured ahead of the Week 5 game agaisnt the New York Jets, Dak needed someone to step up.

Flournoy produced 114 yards from six receptions in the 37-22 win.

Then, on the road in Detroit in Week 14, with Pickens having a poor night and Lamb out with a concussion, Dak again turned to Flournoy.

A 115-yard game from nine receptions was produced, as Flournoy was the main instigator for Dallas' comeback, which ultimately fell short.

To those outside of The Star, Flournoy might be seen as an unsung hero. But those who know the receiver, it only confirmed what we already knew.

Flo has a place in this offense.
