Flournoy is doing everything the coaching staff wants, which should be noticed by others looking to make a name for themselves.

Dallas Cowboys receiver Ryan Flournoy is beginning to settle into this NFL gig, with the second-year wideout starting to hit his stride.

Granted, Flo already had a breakout game in Week 5 against the New York Jets, surpassing 100 yards in the win, but over the past two weeks, Ryan has seen his number called time and time again.

His chemistry with Dak Prescott is noticeable, especially on third down, with the pair regularly connecting, and in the loss to the Detroit Lions, Flournoy was the offensive spark, with nine catches for 115 yards and a 42-yard touchdown.

But what has made Flo such a dependable weapon for head coach Brian Schottenheimer?

“He's worked really, really hard on the fundamentals of the top-of-the-route transition,” Schottenheimer said. “He's always been very strong at the catch point, but also learning the system.

"The biggest thing for me is he's a young player that if you watch him pre-practice, post-practice, working on how to create separation at the top of the route, speed turns, tight turns, bursting turns, all those different things. I think that's where you're seeing him create more and more separation."

So Flournoy is doing all the things that Cowboys fans want from others, such as Jaydon Blue or Jonathan Mingo, both of whom have struggled to get on the field in 2025, and right now, might not for the rest of the year.

But Flournoy hasn't gotten to this stage by luck or having it handed to him; he's done it the old-fashioned way.

"It's through hard work," Schottenheimer added. "He's a professional. He's very mature for his age, young player, and just really proud of him.”

In just his second year, it is now clear that Flournoy, over the season's final month, can hammer home his advantage for the WR3 spot heading into the offseason.

With Jalen Tolbert seemingly falling off a cliff from a production standpoint, so too KaVontae Turpin, the third receiver spot is his for the taking.

And more performances like he had in Detroit, it will be as good as his.
