The Cowboys roll into Lambeau Field to take on the Packers on Sunday Night Football as Schottenheimer's team searches for a much needed win.
The Dallas Cowboys travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers on Sunday Night Football.
Brian Schottenheimer's team has had a tough last 10 days after their horror show against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with a players-only defensive meeting taking place to try and figure out why Christian Parker's defense has been so poor.
The Packers themselves haven't had the best of starts, dealing with inconsistent play and injuries, but they got right last week against the Chicago Bears.
Plus, they are 8-1-1 against the Cowboys in their last 10 games, so it has been a one-sided contest over the past few years.
Oh, and there is this: Dak Prescott won against the Packers in his rookie season of 2016. Since then, he is 0-5-1 vs. Green Bay.
Want some shocking numbers? Dallas has averaged 31 points in those games - but the Packers have averaged 37 points against the Cowboys in those games.
There will be no Josh Jacobs or Micah Parsons for this one, and the Cowboys are dealing with their fair share of defensive injuries.
We know that the offense, led by Prescott, has the capability to be one of the best in football, but they had an off day last week, while the Packers' offense tore apart the Bears last week.
So, this one has all the makings of yet another NFC showdown at Lambeau under lights as the whole nation will be watching.
The Cowboys need this game to give the state of the NFC East, which seems to be there for the taking, to whichever team can bring some sort of consistency to their game.
Given the Packers' injuries, some think the Cowboys will win, but what we have seen from Schottenheimer's team this season doesn't align with that, as they have been wildly inconsistent.
But what better time than to get it right than on the national stage, against an NFC rival in their building?
After Mike Pettine was hired to help Parker, what sort of defense we will see is an interesting storyline to follow tonight.
Can the Cowboys get a much needed win and move to .500 and in the process, put pressure on their NFC rivals?
We're about to find out.
