Despite trade rumors swirling around the rising wideout, Dallas remains committed to Ryan Flournoy as a vital offensive pillar alongside stars CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens.
The Dallas Cowboys' offense, for most, is a settled unit ahead of Brian Schottenheimer's second season in the big silver and blue chair.
Dak Prescott is healthy, George Pickens is under contract for 2026, and the Cowboys have retained the players they wanted to keep.
This offseason is all about "evolving," according to Schottenheimer, as the league now has a full year of tape to work on how to shut the Cowboys' high-octane offense down.
But while much of the attention goes on CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, another receiver stepped up when his number was called last year and that's Ryan Flournoy.
Slated to be WR3 and having earned that title, I'm expecting good things from Flournoy in 2026, and so is Dallas.
Such was its level of confidence that Flournoy could take that next step in his development, the franchise didn't even offer Jalen Tolbert a contract.
So, it is clear how important Flournoy is to Dallas this season, and possibly next, with the uncertain nature of Pickens' long-term future. Which is why any thought of Flo being moved on is rather foolish.
But FanSided's Jake Beckman thinks the New York Jets should make a move and trade for Flournoy.
"Like the Cardinals, the Jets should not be making any trades," Beckman wrote. "They’ve got a lot of depth pretty much everywhere, and they need to just roll with what they have, lose games, and look forward to 2027 when things are established.
"However, if they did have to make a trade, they should try to get a wide receiver who’s got some blocking chops, like Ryan Flournoy, the six-foot-one-inch, 200-pounder in Dallas. He’s not going to break the bank or anything like that, but he’ll add something the Jets could use."
Firstly, the Cowboys, I am fairly certain, aren't about to allow Flournoy to leave. They have a lot invested in him and have high hopes that he can develop into something tangible.
Secondly, what would the asking price be? Say a fourth-rounder? Would the Cowboys be fine in taking that draft pick instead of Flournoy for the 2026 season? Absolutely not.
Plus, with Lamb and Pickens as the top two weapons, you take Flournoy out of the receiver room, you then have Jonathan Mingo (remember him), Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and KaVontae Turpin as the next options.
Yeah, no thanks.
Dallas isn't silly enough to make a move like this when it has high hopes for the player, and it would be detrimental to the offense in 2026.
Would the Jets even give up a draft pick for Flournoy? That's up for debate as well.
It's the silly season in the NFL, folks, and the Cowboys trading away Flo might just take the cake.
