Henry will be the one Dallas has to stop, and it is something not many teams in the league have done regularly.
There's no mistake about it: the Dallas Cowboys will have to find a way on defense to limit the impact of Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry on Sunday in Week 3 in Brazil.
A monster of a back, Henry is a powerful bruiser who also blends that with elite speed; he is the very definition of a game-wrecker and has been for most of his career.
Unfortunately for Christian Parker and his defense, one of their weakest areas in the first two weeks of the season has been run defense.
Not exactly what you want with King Henry up next.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer explained that the Dallas defense needs to get knock-back on Baltimore's offensive line to make Henry hesitate and slow down, which sounds simple enough.
But when you are trying to slow down one of, if not the best, backs in football, it's never easy.
"You see the things that Derrick does to create, and it's very specific," Schottenheimer said. "It's lower-body power and strength. It's all ground-based because that's the way he plays the game. So you have to be able to get your cleats in the ground. Incredible player. What we have to do is we have to create knock-back.
"Our front has to play really, really well because if he's getting seams and buildup speed and they're knocking us laterally, unfortunately, those seams are big and safeties and linebackers just have a hard time getting him on the ground by themselves."
So, the game could come down to the trenches, and with the Dallas defense leaving a lot to be desired in that space, this is the ideal time to show what they're made of.
Of course, slowing Henry down doesn't mean the defense wins the day, as Lamar Jackson is also a serious running threat, not to mention his ability as a passer.
But I think if Dallas can go all out to stop Henry and force Lamar to beat it through the air, it'll live with that. If Jackson throws for 300 yards and 4 TDs, so be it.
What the Cowboys don't want is for Henry to rush for 150+ yards and brutalize them on the ground, which he is very capable of doing.
Henry is a very unique running back, and that means a unique plan has to be devised to stop him.
